ReplyDeleteMy stepfather is great. My father died when I was very young and my stepfather stepped in and did a great job helping raise me with my mother.
ReplyDeleteBeyond the basic, he's always shown me so much love - I love the fact that my dad is such a handy man - he can fix it or build it!

ReplyDeleteMy father was there for each of his 7 children. Then when events happened and he was there for nieces and nephews. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather.

My grandfather was my father. I never knew my father, so my grandpa was always there for me.

ReplyDeleteWhen I lived abroad, anytime I was scheduled to come home to visit he started texting me 1 week before with the countdown of the remaining days before we would see each other...Those were very touching moments, because my dad rarely express his feelings by words.

ReplyDeleteI never been very close with my dad. My brother is a terrific father that always makes time for his kids and I would love to surprise him with an ice cream cake and offer to watch my niece and nephew for a weekend.

I love how hard he works to be the best dad he can be. Tender and loving with our kids, and always willing to learn how to be better as support to me and as example to our kids. <3

ReplyDeleteWhile on vacation, my dad rescued a man who knocked himself out coming up for air under a dock. My dad was a lifeguard in the past and was watching his kids and noticed this. He jumped in, got him to shore and did mouth-to-mouth after turning him on his side. Once you're a lifeguard, it never leaves you.

ReplyDeleteMy father-in-law is wonderful!! He's been a dad to me since I came into the family. My dad passed when I was young. He makes me laugh all of the time and he's been helping us renovate our home to get it ready to put on the market.
