Disclosure: I received a copy of this album to facilitate a review and giveaway. All opinions are 100% mine.
I have been listening to Laurie Berkner ever since my oldest son was a toddler. I may not have known the children's musician's name then but her song "The Goldfish" was a staple at library story time. It quickly became a favorite of mine to sing along to. It was often stuck in my head and it was okay because it was such a fun song. My oldest son is 10 years old now and my kiddos still love that song. When I started taking my youngest boy who is now 2 and a half to music time at the library I was introduced to "Rocketship Run" and "We Are the Dinosaurs". I was soon addicted and had to know who I was listening to and get her music for myself. So you can imagine how excited I was to read that Laurie Berkner was releasing a new album this fall. And I'm not the only one excited. Many of her fans have been waiting eight years for her to make an album of all-new songs.
Superhero was released on September 23rd and has 21 new tracks on it. There are also two bonus tracks "Pool Safely" and "We Are The Dinosaurs" (dance remix). I already like that song and the dance remix adds in a fun beat that would be great to play at a kid's dance party.
The album is full of great songs your kids will love and you will enjoy as well. My personal favorite is "The Music In Me". It's a great call and response type of song that should get everybody singing. "Bubbles" is the kiddos favorite song. It's upbeat and super catchy. "Pajama Time" is a great song to help the kiddos get excited for going to bed. "My My Marisol" features reggae star Ziggy Marley. "Umbrella" has its own reggae sound to it that I think you'll enjoy.
