Welcome to the Back to School Blast!
Getting your family prepared to head back to school, can be difficult especially after a long, fun-filled summer. Here are a few of our favorite Back to School Tips to help you along the way.
1. Back-to-School Supplies Checklist - Backpack? Check. Pencils? Check. Safety scissors? Not Yet. Use the same checklist each time you head out to grab supplies, to keep track of what you have already purchased and the things you still need to. These are also handy if you have more than one child. Simply print 2, 3, 4 list and add their name to the top.
2. Start Early - The Back to School sales have already started. Now is the time to take advantage of the deals available. By the time the first day rolls around you'll be ready and thankful you didn't wait until the last minute.
3. Involve the Kids - Although I know it can be easier for a lot of parents to shop without the kids personally I know how excited my kids get whenever I'm buying something for them. Even if it is folders and notebooks by talking about it with and getting them involved in what we're doing is a way to get them excited about going back to school.
4. Get a Tax Break - Many state offer sales tax holidays on school supplies and clothing. Head over to view the list of states that participate in Sales Tax Holidays.
5. Schedule More Fun - Summer's not over yet and although we're planning for back to school we're also thinking about what else we can do this summer. When I was a kid my dad and I always did a visit our local history museum and an outlet mall before school started. Both things ended up being a tradition and a transition into the school year for me.
