SOPHi & Piggy Paint Non-Toxic Nail Polish Review and Giveaway

I've been reading blogs for longer than I've been managing my own and one company that I have read multiple great reviews on is Piggy Paint.  I've always thought that the non-toxic nail polish would be an awesome product for me to have for my daughter.  Recently I learned that Piggy Paint created a line of eco-friendly nail polish for adults.  They had received multiple requests from Piggy Paint users for a product that allows health conscious women to have a worry-free manicure and now it's available to all with their SOPHi by Piggy Paint line.  

SOPHi is an odorless, hypoallergenic nail polish that contains no formaldehyde, toluene or other harsh chemicals.  There is a whole system available for Prime + Shine + Seal for maximum durability and a real manicure finish.  When you use the system together it is made to hold up just as well as standard polish.

I received the entire system from SOPHi along with two colors including It's a Girl Thing and PLUM-P Up the Volume.  I adore the two colors for my summer toes and the plum color is my new favorite.  Using the system as intended is a quite time consuming for me especially as someone who has only paid for a manicure a few times in her life.  I wish I could just relax while someone did my nails for me.  However it's not hard at all and the instructions as easy to follow. After you wash your hands with soap and water you apply a thin layer of Primer + Sealer for chip resistance and air dry.  Then you apply thin coats of your SOPHi nail color.  Between your polish coats you an instructed to blow dry your polished nails.  Next apply Shine Topcoat for shine and scratch resistance and dry again.  The final step is to apply the Primer + Sealer on top for extended wear and dry again.  I liked the color and the shine on my nails.

The SOPHi line also includes a Nail Polish Remover Gel which didn't work out so well for me.  With it you apply the gel polish to the nail and allow it to soak on the nail before using a paper towel to remove the polish.  It didn't work for me for cleaning up my messy paint jobs and removal of all the polish can again be time consuming.  What I do love though that although there is a scent to the remover it is not nearly as strong as a traditional polish remover.

We also got to try out a few colors of Piggy Paint and my daughter was super excited about the fun colors we received.  She insisted on wearing all of them at once.  The Piggy Paint is also a water-based formula that is hypoallergenic. They are made in the USA with natural ingredients.  They are a polish you can let your child use without worrying about what you are exposing them to.
