My family made our first ever visit to LEGOLAND Discovery Center in Kansas City last year. My kids have grown up playing with legos and they were super excited to visit an attraction dedicated to the toy they love. I ended up loving Legoland too. I was surprised by how much there was do there and how much time I spent in the LEGO MINILAND. I loved the mini Kansas City and mini Wizard of Oz displays. They were interactive and pretty incredible. My son had a blast checking out the Star Wars MINILAND.
My daughter's absolute favorite part of LEGOLAND was the LEGO Friends area. She had so much at Olivia's house playing in the kitchen and she could not get enough of singing karaoke.
We traveled to LEGOLAND over a holiday weekend so it was definitely busy. I recommend buying your tickets for your visit in advance and getting there right when it opens as the lines do get long. It's an all indoors attraction so wait times can get lengthy and there is a possibility that they will sell out of walk-up tickets. The nice thing about it once your inside though is that you can explore any way you want and spend as much time in the areas you enjoy most. There are also a couple of small rides and a 4D cinema show that are fun to check out too.
NEW FOR 2015: Come and visit the LEGO Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope Miniland Model Display that is open now! As part of the new intergalactic exhibit, guests can help the Rebel Alliance destroy the Galactic Empire's powerful Death Star, experience the epic duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader, watch in awe as the Millennium Falcon rises from the deserts of Tatooine, discover the bustling city of Mos Eisley, and take in the busy cantina where the band plays its familiar tune and dangerous characters lurk in dark corners.
