Dinner time is always a hectic time at our house. Each family member has their own activities so there are always kids to transport and meetings to attend. Plus our newest little one has his own idea of when a good time to eat and/or fuss is. I'm very lucky that my husband makes dinner for the family, but on nights where he's running late home from work it can get even crazier. We try to plan meals that can be prepared quickly on our busiest nights and love using helpers that allow us to make delicious meals faster. The newest product from French's helps families like ours make restaurant-style meals at home easily in very little time. Their Crunch-Time Entrees is a solution for dinnertime that combines both convenience and flavor.
Crunch Time Entrees are available in four flavors: General Tso's, Sweet & Sour, Chipotle BBQ and Buffalo. My family received samples of the General Tso's and Sweet & Sour flavors. They were perfect for us because ordering Chinese take-out is one of our weaknesses. I almost always order General Tso's for my entree so I was especially pleased.
The entrees come in a pouch that contains a 4 ounce packet of crunchy coating and a 4 ounce packet of sauce. You decide what you'd like to prepare for your protein. The flavorings work with beef, pork, chicken or seafood. We used chicken both times primarily because that's what we have in the freezer at this time. To make your meal first preheat your oven to 400 degrees and then mix flour with the crunchy coating. Dip your meat in egg then coat with crunchy coating.
Next arrange your meat on a lightly greased backing sheet.
Bake it 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked completely.
Finally drizzle your sauce evenly and serve with your desired side! My family enjoyed both of the entrees with rice and found that there was plenty of both the topping and sauce. I thought there was actually more than enough sauce. Of course we left sauce off of a few pieces of chicken for my picky eater son. The topping gave the chicken lots of flavor even on its own without the sauce.
Crunch Time Entrees are now available at select grocery retailers nationwide and have a suggested retail price of $3.49 each. For more info visit www.frenchs.com or connect with the brand on Facebook.
