Family Event Review ~ Disney on Ice Passport to Adventure

Over Thanksgiving weekend my family was able to attend the Disney on Ice show at Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines.  The show touring in our area was Passport to Adventure which features our pals Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy & Goofy exploring the magical worlds of The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch and Peter Pan.

Our first stop was the African Savannah where we met Simba & Nala, Timon & Pumbaa along with Rafiki.  We were impressed with the skating pair of Simba & Nala and of course the kids loved singing along to "Hakuna Matata".

Next we went under the sea with Ariel, her sisters, Flounder, Sebastian & many other sea creatures.  My daughter got to sing along to her favorite song "Part of Your World" and still felt a little anxious whenever Ursula was out on the ice.

Our third stop was a visit to Hawaii with Lilo & Stitch.  I enjoyed this one quite a bit because of all the great Elvis tunes the skaters performed to.  My daughter got a big kick out of doing the hula with the Lilo & friends at the beginning.

After a brief intermission we were off to London to meet the Darling Family and join their journey to Neverland with Peter Pan and Tinker Bell.  Of course that also means we got to see The Lost Boys, many pirates, Captain Hook & Mr. Smee.  The Peter Pan portion of the show offered some of the best props and visuals of the evening.

At almost two hours long Disney on Ice was able to capture and maintain my children's attention even past their bedtime.  The music keeps the show moving and along with the great skating to watch there is plenty of visual effects to take in.

Disney on Ice is favorite family event of ours that we've been attending annually for several years now.  We hope to be able to continue that tradition through the years.   To learn more about Disney on Ice and find out when one of their productions will be in a city near you visit DisneyOnIce.com.

Disclosure:  My family received tickets to this event for the purpose of a review through US Family Guide.  All opinions are 100% mine.
