Honored as having one of TIME magazine’s 50 Best Websites of 2013, Super Simple Learning® produces an award-winning collection of kids' songs, videos, and books created for young children with emerging language skills (children under five, young learners of English as a foreign or second language, and special needs students).
Super Simple Learning is very excited that it has surpassed one billion views on its YouTube channel. To celebrate this milestone the small group of teachers behind Super Simple Learning recently released a new DVD that features 15 of the most popular and fun videos. Super Simple Songs Video Collection Vol. 1 contains songs you may already know like "Row Row Row Your Boat" and "The Eensey Weensey Spider" and videos for them that will have your children learning the words and singing along.
We received a copy of the DVD and I was excited to watch it with my 4 year- old daughter. She loves to learn new songs and sing them for me. It did take the weather turning colder though to find a good time for her to stay in and watch it versus going outside to play. What surprised me though was that my seven year-old son was also interested in watching it. He was home sick from school last week and it was great DVD to put in that they could both enjoy. The first video was for "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" which was sweet and ended up being my daughter's favorite. We've now played the DVD on multiple occasions just for that one song. "BINGO" was my son's favorite and I liked how they showed different actions to go along with the song. I was surprised to learn that my daughter didn't know the song "Skidamarink" yet. I thought after several years of music classes together she would know that one, but turns out it was new to her and she liked it a lot. There were a few other songs on the DVD that were new to all of us like "Seven Steps" and "The Months Chant".
The DVD includes the following videos:
1. Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
2. BINGO
3. Row Row Row Your Boat
4. Rain Rain Go Away
5. Skidamarink
6. Ten In The Bed
7. Eensey Weensey Spider
8. Open Shut Them
9. Seven Steps
10. The Alphabet Song
11. The Alphabet Chant
12. Days Of The Week
13. The Months Chant
14. Uh-huh
15. Five Little Monkeys
I liked that words were included for many of the songs so that my son could read along. I also liked that the DVD itself has a fairly short running time. At only 33 minutes it doesn't get old to listen to as a parent and keeps moving so that your little ones stay entertained.
On the Super Simple Learning site there are a ton of other free and paid resources that you'll find helpful and fun including CDs, an iPhone/iPad app, flash cards, digital content and more. Be sure to visit www.supersimplelearning.com to learn more.
