We picked a great time to go on vacation this year. Around the time Iowa was getting a blast of snow in May we were blessed to be on a Disney Cruise Line vacation in the Bahamas. Our trip from the port of Galveston included a stop at Disney's own private island Castaway Cay. We spent a day enjoying the white sandy beach and soaking up the sunshine. It also included quite a bit of walking from the ship to the beach and water slide and of course a lot of splashing in the ocean having fun watching the fish swim around our feet. It was the perfect opportunity to wear the new swim suit I had picked out from Free Country.
The Free Country company makes casual outerwear and apparel for active lifestyles. Just within the last 5 years it has expanded its product line to include swimwear. I loved looking through the selection of mix and match pieces of women's swimwear and it was hard choosing. I'm most comfortable in swim skirts or shorts so when I saw these drawstring shorts I knew I wanted to find a top that would work with them.
I ended up choosing this striped racer-back tankini. I really liked the grey and pink color scheme and I thought the cut would be flattering. I love that Free Country had so many tankini styles to choose from. I love being able to cover up my belly!
I think this swimsuit was the first I've ever worn with the racer-back style. It was very comfortable and had good support. I was also glad that the size guide on the site had been accurate for me and it fit great. My favorite part of the suit is the drawstring shorts though. I love these shorts so much. They are so comfortable and easy to move around in wet or dry. I could even see myself running in these shorts. The ultimate test of any swimsuit for me though is how well it stays in place. When I take two kids to the pool by myself I can't be worrying about my swimsuit covering me up in all the right places. I had no worries in this suit and it will be one that I wear a lot this summer.
Disclosure: I received a swim suit from Free Country for the purpose of a review. No further compensation was received. All opinions are 100% mine.
