Kylie Minogue's The Abbey Road Sessions Album Review #AbbeyRoadSessions

Tomorrow, November 6th, Kylie Minogue's brand new album The Abbey Road Sessions will be released.  I was fortunate to get this album early and have been enjoying listening to it.  Even if you're not familiar with Kylie Minogue you probably know at least one of her hit songs from her 25 year career including "The Locomotion" and "Can't Get You Out of My Head".  Both of these songs are included on this album though they have been completely reworked.

The Abbey Road Sessions album cotains sixteen tracks and all but one of them had been recorded before.  Since I only knew the two songs mentioned above this album was completely new to me.  The album was recorded in London's legendary Abbey Road Studios with a full orchestra accompaniment.

I've always known how gorgeous of a woman Kylie is, but never realized before how gorgeous her voice is.  On this album the songs are stripped down so you can't help but be mesmerized by her voice singing one love song after another.  At least most of them seem like love songs to me other than the duet with Nick Cave "Where the Wild Roses Grow".  That song seemed more like a haunting country ballad.  My favorite song on the album was the only previously unreleased track "Flower".  This song was written following Kylie's battle with breast cancer and is dedicated to the child she hopes to have some day.

Ready to listen for yourself? The Abbey Road Sessions will be available starting November 6th on iTunes and Amazon.  Want to see more of Kylie?  She'll be appearing on Dancing with the Stars on November 13th and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on November 14th.
