Holiday Gift Idea ~ Taste! Indulge! Enjoy! FunkyChunky Snacks

I was first introduced to the FunkyChunky brand in my November/December 2012 issue of Midwest Living.  I typically read Midwest Living from cover to cover and featured in the magazine's first-ever gift guide was FunkyChunky Chip-Zel-Pop.  It described the chocolate covered pretzels, potato chips and popcorn with chewy caramel.  That's all I had to read and I knew I wanted to try it.  FunkyChunky was kind enough to send me some samples, so that I was able to try their yummy snacks for myself.

The package arrived with a nice gift box finished with a beautiful brown bow.  Inside the box were six small bags of FunkyChunky Snacks in different varieties.

Sea Salt Caramel ~  A mix of caramel popcorn made with real butter and sugar, cashew pieces, toppped with chewy caramel, milk and dark chocolaty drizzle and sprinkled with sea salt.

Pretzels ~ A mix made with pretzels, laced with chewy caramel, drenched with dark, milk and white chocolaty drizzle and finished with chopped pecans.

Candy Cane ~ Buttery caramel popcorn mixed with white peppermint drizzle, macadamia nuts and crushed candy cane pieces.

Chip-Zel-Pop ~ Potato chips, pretzel sticks and caramel corn laced with chewy caramel and drenched with dark, milk and white chocolaty drizzle.

Popcorn ~ Caramel corn combined with whole almonds, cashews and pecans drenched with a blend of dark, milk and white chocolaty drizzle.

Peanut Butter ~ Pretzels drizzled with peanut butter and caramel, drenched with chocolaty drizzle and sprinkled with chopped peanuts.

We are a family that loves to snack and we love both salty and sweet snacks so the FunkyChunky snacks truly are the perfect combination of both worlds for us.  My kids eat a lot of popcorn and pretzels so I knew I had to share these delectable treats, but secretly I wish I had kept them all to myself!  The chocolate popcorn varieties were the favorites of all of us.  In fact, I think the Sea Salt Caramel ended up being the overall favorite. 

 

The freshness and the buttery taste of the popcorn was amazing.  That combined with the sweetness of the chocolate did make it addicting and I found myself eating crumbs on more than one occasion.  My recommendation is to splurge and buy more than just a small bag.  Although the small bags would make wonderful stocking stuffers if you have to share any of the bag it won't last long and will leave someone wanting for more.

 

I love that FunkyChunky is made in my neighboring state of Minnesota and I love that their snacks are made by people not machines.  The company uses real butter and vanilla and you can taste the freshness.
