Jolly Time for Back to School (Review)

One snack my whole family enjoys together is popcorn.  If we're having a family movie night it's just a given that we're going to pop some popcorn.  When we're  traveling we usually stay in hotels with a microwave in the room, so we usually take some popcorn with us.  It's a great snack in the evening after swimming in the pool. Even tonight we shared some popcorn at our typical early dinner time because we had later plans to eat and everyone was hungry.  It was a good way to keep hunger at bay.

A few weeks ago we received a trio of popcorn from Jolly Time.  I was immediately thankful to have it to include some in my son's packed lunch.  As I know I've probably mentioned several times my son is an incredibly picky eater.  It is honestly easier to have him eat the school lunch than to pack a lunch for him because he really only likes fruit and snacks.  I don't mind including a small bag of popcorn in his lunch because then I at least know he is getting some fiber & grains, plus I know it will help keep his tummy full during the long afternoon he has at school.

The trio included boxes of their Blast O'Butter MiniBags, Healthy Pop Butter 100 Calorie packs and Healthy Pop Kettle Corn 100 Calorie Packs.  Of course the kids and I really like our movie theatre popcorn, so the Blast O'Butter was our favorite.  I do have to say though the the Healthy Pop Butter 100 Calorie packs were really good.  I wish I would have tried them when I was working outside the home.  There were days when I didn't have leftovers to bring to work for lunch and I would pop a bag of popcorn.  I always popped a regular size bag and then let it sit at my desk and I snacked on it all afternoon.  Probably not the best choice.  The 100 calorie bags would be a much wiser decision and definitely help with portion control.  The kids also really enjoyed the Kettle Corn 100 Calorie Packs.  I'm not a huge fan of the sweetness of kettle style corn, but I will eat it again if we're all sharing.

One word of caution on the mini-bags they don't need as much time in the microwave.  Do not put the bag in and walk away.  I used my sensor popcron button and had to stop it with 30 seconds left for perfectly popped bags.

All three of the Jolly Time popcorns make great snacks and with the all of the flavors and varieties that Jolly Time offers you're bound to find one your family will enjoy.
