Weekly Menu Plan ~ August 5-11

Two of my very favorite Iowa summer events take place this week and they both involve food!  The Iowa State Fair starts Thursday and I know we'll be eating dinner there once this week.  The Adel Sweet Corn Festival is on Saturday which means a lot of fresh sweet corn for lunch and hopefully a slice of homemade pie too.  Tonight we technically had ice cream for dinner which I probably shouldn't admit to, but it was probably our last chance to have Snookies this season.  We didn't want to pass that up!

Here's what we have planned for meals this week: 
  • Chicken, bacon & cheese on toasted South Union Bakery garlic foccacia sandwiches (we actually had this for lunch today & it was so good!)
  • Fajitas
  • Tomato & Spinach Pasta Toss
  • Grilled Pork Chops and Garden Green Beans
  • Fried Pickles and Bauder's Peppermint Bar (my state fair dinner of choice)
