Review ~ Copy-Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables DVD

Do you have a picky young eater in your household? Keep reading because Copy-Kids is for you and for any parent that struggles with getting their kids to eat healthy foods. Copy-Kids released their first DVD Copy-Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables earlier this year. The Copy-Kids series is designed for children 6 months to 5 years and features young children eating their fruits and veggies.

My 3 year-old daughter is not a picky eater at all, but I thought it would be fun to watch the DVD with her to get her reaction.  She wanted to watch the DVD immediately after we received it. She loved the bright colors and the pictures of the kids on the front cover. After we put the DVD in the player we selected which of the 12 different fruits and vegetables she wanted to watch. On this DVD there are bell peppers, carrots, broccoli, cucumber, avocado, tomatoes, raspberries, bananas, strawberries, oranges, apples and blueberries to pick from. My daughter chose broccoli to watch first which I found interesting. It's not her favorite food, but she will eat it.  Her second choice was blueberries which she does love.  Each segment lasts for about 6-8 minutes and features multiple children each trying the fruit or vegetable.  My daughter got a big kick out of watching it.  She loved seeing what the kids were doing and listening to them talk.  She especially loved watching the little ones she called “babies”.  We watched the DVD in my room, but if I would have played it in the kitchen for her and given her the foods to try while we were watching I have no doubt she would have dived right in.  It’s true that kids like to watch other kids and they tend to want to do what other kids are doing.
I think the DVD is a wonderful tool that parents can use in working with getting their young children to try new foods.  As with all healthy habits it's important to start at a young age.  I really like that the DVD makes it very easy to select which fruit or vegetable you want to focus on.  You don’t have to do a lot of button pushing on the remote to get to which segment you want.

I also have a copy of the Copy-Kids Eat Fruits and Vegetables DVD to give away to one lucky reader along with a $25 Whole Foods Gift Card to purchase those fruits and veggies.  Be sure to enter for your chance to win.

  6. Picky eater is a major understatement. He was born picky, but I've learned to deal...and hide veggies, mostly in muffins and pancakes, so I'm working around it, but it's so difficult to get him to try anything new.
