The giveaway here at Confessions of a Frugal Mind is for a FREDS SWIM ACADEMY SWIMTRAINER "Classic" from Thanks Mama!

Thanks Mama is a family owned cloth diapering and natural parenting store that is based in Massachusetts.  Their mission is to provide parents with innovative and green products for moms and babies that are also practical and economical.  One of the products you can find on their site is the Swimtrainer.  The Swimtrainer is designed to provide your child with the ideal swimming position in the water to help them learn how to use their arms and legs the right way.  It is made of PVC and is Phthalate free.

We received the Swimtrainer "Classic" Red for children from approx. 13-40 pounds.  My daughter's weight falls in the middle of that range.  We put on the swimtrainer while she was standing outside of the pool.  The only issue we had was that while she was standing the shoulder straps weren't able to fit over head.  Once she was in the correct position in the water they would have fit fine.  Honestly we didn't have the instructions with us at the pool, so had we followed them for putting it on children that part might have worked better for us.  We were able to fasten the safety belt that prevents from tipping over. The swimtrainer also has inflatable pads that prevent the child from slipping through.

My 3 year old daughter just started swim lessons earlier this year. She's a good little worker in the pool and willing to try anything, but she needs to build upon the skills she's learning. While she was in the Swimtrainer she was definitely feeling confident. It was a great way for her to practice her leg movements and she liked being able to get around in the pool with it. As a parent I really appreciated that she could be in the Swimtrainer and I didn't have to hold her the entire time. Instead I could be nearby in the water.  It would have been great to have the Swimtrainer on a recent weekend to a hotel waterpark that had a lazy river in it.  This would have been ideal for her as I was constantly worrying about her slipping through the big tubes they provided.

The Giveaway:  Thanks Mama was kind enough to offer one lucky winner a SWIMTRAINER of their very own!  To enter use the rafflecopter form below.
