Rascal Flatts ~ Changed: One Night Only Event Review
A week ago I attended the Fathom event Rascal Flatts~Changed: One Night only exclusive movie theatre event at our local Cinemark theatre. This was my first experience attending an event like this and I enjoyed it. I don't listen to a lot of country music anymore, but Rascal Flatts is a band I have listened to off and on over the years and they've always seemed so likeable. This event just reinforced that positive feeling I have toward them. The movie gave the audience an intimate peek into the bandmember's music and families. If you are Rascal Flatt's fan you would have definitely enjoyed it. I learned a lot about the band and it was interesting seeing them with their wives and kids. It allowed me to see another side of them that I could even relate to at times.
One thing Gary LeVox (lead vocalist) said at the beginning of the movie is how music is influential and I couldn't agree more. Although music isn't as big of a part of my life as it once was I still couldn't get by without it. Music does so much for me - it can energize me when I'm needing to get moving and it can help calm me down when I'm feeling stressed. And the music is really what this event was all about. Rascal Flatts performed 10 songs during the show.
They opened with the song "Banjo" off of their new CD and then between songs it would cut to the bandmembers sharing stories about their past together, their music and their future as a band. I was a little surprised they only played 5 songs off of the newest release Changed, but the other 5 songs were just a few of the many hits they've had including "Bless the Broken Road", "What Hurts the Most", "Fast Cars & Freedom", " I Won't Let Go" and "Life is a Highway." I was a little disappointed they didn't play my personal favorite "These Days", but I still enjoyed all of the performances. My favorites seemed to be the ones they did as an acoustic set.
Rascal Flatts is coming to the Iowa State Fair in August. I think it would be a fun show to attend. If you want a chance to win tickets to an upcoming Rascal Flatts concert be sure to enter the Rascal Flatts Fly Away Contest. Good luck!
Disclosure: I received passes for myself and a friend to attend the Rascal Flatts Theatre Event as part of a review campaign through the One2One Network. All opinions are 100% mine.
