Rascal Flatts "Changed" Album Review
It's hard for me to believe that Rascal Flatts has been around for over 10 years. I was in college when their first single "Praying for Daylight" was released. At that time I listened to country music a lot more often than I do now. I actually felt a little nostalgic listening to their new album Changed for the first time. They are still the great sounding band that released one of my favorite songs "These Days". That is one thing that hasn't changed.
Changed is Rascal Flatts first album on the Big Machine Records label after the 2010 demise of their previous longtime label. It also comes at a time where the band has new management team and a renewed motivation to create the best music they can.
The album kicks off with the title track "Changed". I enjoyed hearing Gary's story about how the song came to be written at the Changed Theatre Event. "Banjo" is the second track on the album and is already climbing the country charts. I also noticed that Entertainment Weekly included "Banjo" as a song to include on "Your Ultimate 2012 Playlist". Personally my favorite track off the album is "Hot in Here". It has a great beat and sexy lyrics. Of course the album contains some ballads. Listen to "Come Wake Me Up" if you're needing some tears released.
I think the whole album sounds great although I tend to listen to the first half more often right now. It's everything you would hope for and expect from Rascal Flatts ~ great vocals, infectious melodies and some serious guitar playing as well.
Rascal Flatts is kicking off their Summer American Band Tour this June with Eli Young Band, Little Big Town and Edens Edge. Be sure to enter for your chance to win a trip for 2 to see Rascal Flatts live this summer!
Disclosure: I received a copy of Rascal Flatts' new album for purpose of review from One2One Network. No further compensation was received. All opinions are 100% mine.
