Frugal Backfires & a Chance to Win $10,000! #CloroxLounge

You probably already know this about me, but I love a good deal.  Back in December there was an awesome Huggies diaper deal at Target.  It was a deal that involved buying three boxes of diapers and getting $20 back in Target gift cards. I used coupons too of course to save even more.  I was all over it.  I was really excited about the deal at the time because we were almost completely out of diapers for my daughter.  Thank goodness I had a stockpile of free diaper samples to get us by before I got to the store.  I remember going out that night because it was pouring down rain.  I ran into Target by myself and was relieved to find they still had plenty of the size 4 boxes I needed.  I bought the diapers then loaded them in our trunk.   I didn't care about the rain because I got a great deal on diapers and paid only about $10 or $11 per box.   We were stocked up  and I wasn't going to have to worry about buying diapers again for a long time.  I couldn't have been more right about that.  Just a couple of weeks later my daughter decided she was potty trained.  Now I have two and a half boxes of size 4 diapers sitting in my basement.  So much for being frugal and snagging this hot deal. 
 
I know that if we decide to have another child someday I will be very glad to have those diapers waiting for me, but it still feels like I spent money in order to save money.   Of course it is just one of my frugal backfires.  I'm sure there are still more to come as well.
