Family Fun With Play-Doh #PlayDohPlayDates

I've visited the Hasbro web site in the past, but it was mainly to check out a toy or game I wanted more information about and I didn't spend a lot of time on the site.  I've discovered though that if you dig a little deeper in the site there are some hidden treasures especially in the Play-Doh pages.  Did you know that Play-Doh has a whole section on the site focused on fun family themes they call Play-Doh Play-Dates?   I checked out the site with my 5-year old son this past weekend.
We loved the different themes you could explore.  If you want to create your own Play-Doh Pizza Shop they've got you covered with ideas for creating the menu items out of Play-Doh plus craft activities like pizza boxes and menus for additional fun.  The site even has healthy snack ideas to make if you're feeling inspired by the theme.  Just from looking at the Pizza Shop page my son said he was getting hungry!  All of his favorite creations were food related.  I didn't blame him - the Ice Cream Shoppe theme was my personal favorite.  There were 6 themes in total to explore including the Pizza Shop, Ice Cream Shoppe,  Breakfast Diner, Beach Party, Back to School and Spring Picnic.

Because my Play-Doh skill level has never gone much beyond Play-Doh cookies and solid color pretzels I especially loved viewing all of their "Fresh Ideas" .  If you want ideas for sweets or holiday creations to make with Play-Doh you'll be able to find some inspiration in the Fresh Ideas Gallery.  The best part is they don't just show you what you can create with Play-Doh they actually give you a step-by-step visual for the creation.  That is very important to me because I definitely need the instruction along the way.  I also loved that they had ideas for creations in all skill levels.  With my son we stuck with the Beginner level ideas, but if you are looking for more Intermediate or Advanced activities you'll be able to find them.
My Play-Doh play dates are usually with my son and daughter after lunch.  I love just giving them Play-Doh and knowing that they will be busy and entertained.  For myself I love that I can play with them and while I'm playing I know I'm really relieving stress by rolling, squishing and smashing.  If you've never tried Play-Doh as a stress reliever I definitely recommend it!  I also definitely recommend visiting the Play-Doh Play-Dates web site the next time you are ready to get creative with Play-Doh.
