I was reminded when posting a recent Groupon deal how important it is to look at the benefits of your various memberships. My family has current memberships to the Science Center of Iowa, Blank Park Zoo and our most recent addition the Des Moines Botanical Center. My favorite added benefit of all of these memberships is the attractions that may provide a reciprocal benefit for your membership.
In the past with our zoo membership we have gone to a zoo in Michigan while on vacation for free and we take advantage of the discount to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha every year. Our Science Center membership has been great too. On our drive to Branson on vacation we stopped in Springfield at their Discovery Center and let the kids stretch their legs and have fun. Fun for free because we checked our lists. As we're planning our current vacation I'm a little disappointed there aren't more locations nearby we can take advantage of this year, but if you're planning a summer vacation and you have a museum and/or zoo membership be sure to look into what your benefits can get you!
