I love living in Des Moines because it means we are only hours away from several other great Midwest cities including Omaha.  Omaha is such a quick and easy drive that we've done multiple weekend trips and even day trips.  The Henry Doorly Zoo is a must visit attraction for us, but there is so much more to the city.  If you're planning a visit you'll definitely want to check out the Durham Museum and if you have kiddos you'll also want to visit the Omaha Children's Museum.  It will keep them active and entertained for hours.
