A couple of years ago I read about dryer balls and how using them in the dryer could reduce drying time. I made a trip to a home store soon after that and bought myself a set of plastic dryer balls. Within less than 2 months the first ball had split apart and was useless. Not much longer after that the second ball cracked. I used that cracked ball for a while not ever knowing if it was making any difference in my laundry. Eventually that ball got tossed out too. I am so glad to have found a better option from The Willow Store!
The Willow Store was founded on the belief that we must respect our Earth and do what we can to take care of it for future generations. One of the products available on the site are wool dryer balls. Wool Dryer Balls are handmade completely from wool in the US. I received a 3 pack of natural balls to try out.
Dryer balls are the easiest thing to use; just toss 2 or 3 of them into your dryer with your wet laundry on the normal settings. You don't need to use anything else in the dryer. Your clothes will be softened without the use of fabric softener. I was so happy to see that the wool dryer balls do help reduce the drying time of my laundry. This summer we've been having swim lessons twice a week plus other days outside getting wet or at the pool, so my laundry loads are full of towels, towels and more towels. These loads take a long time to dry but with the help of these dryer balls the drying is getting done faster. My clothes haven't had any noticeable static electricity since I've been using the wool dryer balls, but it is summer so I'll be curious to see how these work in the winter when that is more of an issue.
Want to know what I most thrilled about? I have used these 3 dryer balls in every load of laundry in my dryer since I received them and they still look like this:
I believe that I truly will be using these balls for years. I can feel good about reusing them and reducing my dryer energy usage.
For more information on natural laundry care visit TheWillowStore.com. From there you can also purchase single dryer balls on the site or packs of 3. Check out all of the fun colors you can get the balls in. I think they would make neat housewarming or shower gift for someone. You can also find them on Amazon.
Disclosure: I was provided this item at no charge in exchange for an honest review. No further compensation was received. All opinions are 100% mine.
These sound awesome! I am totally checking them out. What a great eco-friendly product that's also cost-efficient! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI never thought I would need something like this until recently. My hubby needs to wash his uniform every night (just a shirt and pants) and I've noticed the shirt never gets dry because it folds onto itself while in the dryer, so the middle stays wet! Going to look into these, thanks!
ReplyDeleteHuh, who would have thought! So cool! I'll have to look into these!
ReplyDeleteI currently have three, but think I need a few more to see a real impact. Our dryer is crummy, but I do love using wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets. Makes me happy knowing I'm not leaving chemicals on our clothes.
ReplyDeleteI would love to win these to try to cut my diaper drying time down. It takes forever for them to dry.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried wool dryer balls yet, but would love to! I like the fact that they can be used over and over again. Also, II think it's great that they reduce drying time.
ReplyDeleteI would like to see if these work in reducing my drying time.
ReplyDeleteI have really been wanting to try these for about a year now & much like you, my son is in swim lessons & trips to the parks have caused much higher laundry loads than usual. I feel like I'm doing laundry nearly every single day. I'm fanatical about keeping up with things, so if there is a load to be washed... it's getting washed, unless I'm sick... and even then, it'll still likely get done, hahaha. I love the fact that it will cut down on waste. I tried to do that with a bounce dryer bar, but found that I didn't like it as much as the sheets, so I went back. I would also love to see how they cut the drying time for myself b/c I go through A LOT of towels in this house between my boys! Thanks so much!
