Rock N Learn ~ Sight Words DVD Review & Giveaway

The Rock n Learn company was created in 1986 when the founders saw a need for entertaining educational programs that would hold the interest of students and show results.  Rock 'N Learn now has over 50 products to help students learn math, phonics, reading, early childhood, social studies, Spanish, test-taking strategies, writing, and science.   All of the DVDs utilize music along with colorful images as tools in the learning process.

My family received a copy of the Sight Words DVD to review.  Sight Words is designed for kids aged Pre-K and up.  Since we had previously reviewed the Letter Sounds dvd from Rock n Learn my 5 year old son was excited to watch this dvd.  He liked that it included the same characters. This DVD is a great tool for his stage in learning to read.  He knows all of his letters and letter sounds, but just started learning sight words this past year at school.  The DVD covers over 60 sight words, many of which my son hasn't learned yet.  I'm going to focus on sight words and reading this summer with my son, so I'm thankful to have this DVD as another way to help him learn.

I appreciate that the Rock n Learn DVDs start playing right away without any previews.  This DVD runs for about 50 minutes, but with all of the different songs and ways to practice it goes quickly.  I definitely believe that music plays a vital role in the education process, so I love that it is a key element of the Rock n Learn products.
