Review ~ SleepPhones: Headphones for Sleeping

Product Description:  SleepPhones are the first and only headphones designed specifically for sleeping.  They allow you to listen to music, audiobooks or even TV without disturbing others.  The fleece headband is machine washable and the thin padded speakers offer great sound. SleepPhones are compatible with just about any device you can think of: CD players, SmartPhones, iPods, tablets and more.
My Thoughts:  I am fortunate that I don't live with a habitual snorer, but my hubby does snore occassionally and usually goes to bed before me.  The nights he does snore I lay in annoyance for some time before I'm able to crash.  So last weekend when my darling husband started snoring while I was still up working on the computer I was very excited to break out the SleepPhones I had been sent to try out.  One problem - my iPod wasn't charged.  A sleep CD is included with your SleepPhones, but I don't have a CD player bedside so my test had to be put off.

I decided to try them recently even without putting them up against the snoring test.  The first surprise was how comfortable they are.  The fleece headband is soft and you don't even notice the thin speakers inside.  The second surprise was the quality of the sound.  My iPod was on shuffle and the first couple of songs I heard sounded great.  They seemed somewhat soft, but that's what I'm looking for when trying to go to sleep.  I always go to sleep with the TV on and I know I really shouldn't.  There are times it distracts me or makes me stay up later than I should and there are other times I forget to set the sleep timer then wake up to glaring lights and noise.  The SleepPhones are a much better alternative for me.  The SleepPhones aren't wireless though so keep in mind you will have a cord.  It really didn't bother me at all.  When I woke up in the morning I was surprised my SleepPhones were still on.  They managed to stay put through any tossing around I did and I hardly noticed they were still on.  (If you turn your furnace down at night like we do an added benefit of the SleepPhones is warmth!)

I would definitely recommend these to anyone that needs to block out distractions when going to sleep.  I think SleepPhones would be especially great for traveling to block out the hotel noise that seems to always be amplified when I'm trying to sleep.

  1. Those are so neat and look so comfortable! I didn't know there was such a thing available to buy. I can't sleep with any noise going on so I definitely need these.

  2. I don't have trouble with sleeping but I love the idea. Especially as I like to listen to audio books before I start dreaming! :)
