Skillet Baked Pasta
1 package rotini pasta
3/4 lb. Italian sausage
2 sweet red peppers
1 large onion
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 jar marinara sauce
2 cups shredded four-cheese Italian blend
Heat oven to 450 degrees.
Cook pasta following package directions. Drain. While pasta is cooking, cut sausage into 1/2 inch slices. Slice peppers and onion. Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage, peppers and onions. Cook, 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until peppers and onions are tender and the sausage is cooked through. Add sauce and bring to simmer. Stir in the drained pasta and 1 cup of the cheese. Sprinkle remaining cheese over the pasta and bake at 450 for 8 minutes or until cheese melts and casserole starts to bubble. Cool 5 minutes before serving.
This sounds good. Looks pretty good too!
ReplyDeleteI eat pasta pretty often, but I just boil noodles on the stovetop. I've baked a few dishes in the oven, but have never tried a recipe like this. ...I don't think I've seen a recipe for skilled-baked pasta! Especially given how much I love pasta, I'd love to try this out!
ReplyDeleteThis looks really good and I will have to try it for my husband
