Little Green Pouch ~ Reusable Food Pouch Review and Giveaway

Product was received in exchange for this post.

I will never forget the first time I brought home a certain brand of applesauce in a squeezable pouch for my two older kids.  It's pretty vivid in my memory because it was just within the past year!  They were so excited to eat applesauce just because for them it was a novelty to be eating from the pouch and not having to use a spoon.  I honestly had no idea how thrilled they would be by it.  I only got the item because I got a good deal on it, but then after seeing their joy it made me want to be able to get more for them. But certain deals only come around so often, so they were going to have to wait.  That's why when I was introduced to Little Green Pouch I was pumped to try out this reusable food pouch.  I wanted to see if the thrill would still be there for my kids even if they knew we were eating the same old fruit just in a new and exciting way.

The Little Green Pouch company was started by a mom who was excited to see that her kids were eating healthy fruits and veggies because they were in a squeezable pouch.  However, she didn't like the cost of them and the limited variety of foods along with the waste they created so she along with a friend sought to create a pouch that was not only environmentally friendly but also convenient and nice looking.

Our family was sent a four pack of the reusable food pouches from Little Green Pouch.  Since my youngest is still a newborn I relied on my older kids to try them out.  They were both more than willing and just as excited about these pouches as those other name-brand pouches.  I filled them with applesauce using a spoon and the kids went crazy for them.

I love the fact that we can use these pouches over and over again and that they can be washed in the dishwasher.  We washed ours by hand, but then discovered we needed a way to prop them open enough so they can dry properly.  You should be able to get at least 50 uses out of each pouch if you clean them properly.  The pouches are made of durable BPA-free, lead-free, phthalate-free, PVC-free plastic so you don't have to worry about nasty chemicals.  They make for great on the go snacks because you don't have to worry about packing spoons and kids can eat them mess-free.  I'm thinking these will be great come road-trip time.

I've learned that using a funnel is much easier than a spoon to fill these in my opinion.  I also found that our bagel holder for slicing is a great way to keep the pouch upright when using the funnel.  The pouches do stand on their own, but it's easier once you start filling.  We've only used the pouches for applesauce so far, but with a baby in the house now it won't be too long before we're serving up some pureed fruits or veggies to our youngest little guy in these.  I'm excited to have them for him when he's ready.
