Operation Smile ~ Changing Live's One Smile At a Time
Is there anything better than a child's smile? One of my favorite parts about being a parent is when one of my kids flashes a smile my direction. And the first time my babies smiled my heart just melted and it didn't matter to me if those smiles were genuine smiles or gassy smiles. Some parents though don't get to experience the joy of the first smile and some children don't get to express their happiness with a smile. Every 3 minutes a child is born with a cleft lip or palate. This deformity often makes it impossible for the child to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In most cases a surgery is all that is needed for the child to lead a normal life. A life where they are accepted and a life where they can share their smile.
Sadly many parents can't afford the surgeries that would provide their child with a normal life. That's where Operation Smile comes in. Operation Smile is a leading children's charity dedicated to providing patient evaluations and FREE surgeries to those children and young adults born with a cleft. Operation Smile is working in over 60 countries, healing around the world and making it possible for children to smile.
Of course as with any charity Operation Smile relies on its volunteers and supporters to continue its mission of changing lives one smile at a time. CampusBookRentals.com supports this mission and has officially teamed up with Operation Smile. They are donating a minimum of 1,000 surgeries, but hope to provide even more. With every textbook that is rented from CampusBookRentals.com a portion of the amount will go toward the goal of exceeding 1,000 surgeries.
You can support this mission too. You can visit CampusBookRentals.com to learn more about their rental program and when you use it for your textbook needs you know that you are also helping to put a smile on a child's face.
Disclosure: This is a sponsored post brought to you by CampusBookRentals.com, however all opinions are 100% mine and I truly feel Operation Smile is a wonderful organization to support.
