EyeBuyDirect.com is a prescription eyewear website that offers a wide range of high quality yet still affordable frame and lens packages.  On the site you can browse an extensive online catalogue and purchase eyewear from the comfort of your own home.

I have never ordered glasses online so ordering glasses from EyeBuyDirect was a completely new experience for me.  I was excited about doing doing so though because I knew I was in need of an updated prescription and our family's insurance only covers new glasses every 2 years.  Even with insurance I paid $217 out of pocket the last time I bought new glasses.  At EyeBuyDirect prices for eyeglasses start at $6.95.

With such a large selection on the site to choose from I have to admit I was a little intimidated when I started my search for frames.  It was simple though to start narrowing down my search.  You can select between genders, price points, frame type, shapes and even size, material and color!  I sorted by female, full rimmed and rectangle to find the look I wanted.

I like that I could easily mark frames as my favorites for when I had a chance to look at them with my hubby.  Also once I was ready to order I appreciated how easy it was to enter my prescription information.  Since it was all new to me I had to measure my own Pupillary Distance and I was relieved it that it shows you how to measure it. 

I ended up choosing a Daisy frames in purple that were priced at $6.95.  You can get standard lens thickness for free (which is what I chose) or you can choose from lite or Polycarbonate for an additional cost.  Lens anti-scratch protection is offered for free and you can add anti-glare, UV coating, etc. also for an additional cost.  I didn't add any extras so my glasses with shipping included would cost $12.90.  Not bad for glasses I will wear every day while I'm working here at the computer and a lot better than spending the $200 I'm used to spending. 

Once ordered I immediately received an email with the invoice.  Soon after I received a shipping notification and my glasses arrived in the mail in less than 2 weeks.  All glasses come with a case and lens cloth.

My only disappointment is with how the frames fit my face. They are a little big for me. I probably would have selected another pair had I tried them on and looked in a mirror, but what I should have done is taken advantage of the "Eyetry" feature on EyeBuyDirect.com.  With this feature you can upload a picture of yourself and start trying on frames.  I know I will try this out next time!  And there will be a next time - at this price you can't go wrong with quality glasses.
