The Laurie Berkner Band New Album Superhero Review & Giveaway @LaurieBerkner

Disclosure:  I received a copy of this album to facilitate a review and giveaway.  All opinions are 100% mine.

I have been listening to Laurie Berkner ever since my oldest son was a toddler.  I may not have known the children's musician's name then but her song "The Goldfish" was a staple at library story time.  It quickly became a favorite of mine to sing along to.  It was often stuck in my head and it was okay because it was such a fun song.  My oldest son is 10 years old now and my kiddos still love that song.  When I started taking my youngest boy who is now 2 and a half to music time at the library I was introduced to "Rocketship Run" and "We Are the Dinosaurs".  I was soon addicted and had to know who I was listening to and get her music for myself.  So you can imagine how excited I was to read that Laurie Berkner was releasing a new album this fall.  And I'm not the only one excited.  Many of her fans have been waiting eight years for her to make an album of all-new songs.

Superhero was released on September 23rd and has 21 new tracks on it. There are also two bonus tracks "Pool Safely" and "We Are The Dinosaurs" (dance remix).  I already like that song and the dance remix adds in a fun beat that would be great to play at a kid's dance party.

The album is full of great songs your kids will love and you will enjoy as well. My personal favorite is "The Music In Me".  It's a great call and response type of song that should get everybody singing.  "Bubbles" is the kiddos favorite song.  It's upbeat and super catchy.  "Pajama Time" is a great song to help the kiddos get excited for going to bed.  "My My Marisol" features reggae star Ziggy Marley.  "Umbrella" has its own reggae sound to it that I think you'll enjoy.

About Laurie Berkner:
A former preschool music teacher by and indie rocker by night, Laurie Berkner started marketing her music more than fifteen years agao from her living room on her own label.  She is now widely recognized as a pioneer in the "kindie" music genre and was crowned "the undisputed queen of kindie rock" by USA Today.  The Wall Street Journal noted "Her music is distinctive because it speaks to kids without talking down to them, charming youngsters without boring grown-ups."

Superhero is available at favorite music stores and digital retailers including Amazon.  The audio CD on Amazon includes a free MP3 version of the album. You can also visit her website www.laurieberkner.com to learn more and purchase it.
