All Things Bright and Beautiful Children's Book Review and Giveaway #AllThingsBrightAndBeautiful #FlyBy

Disclosure:  This book was provided free of charge for the purpose of this review.

"All things bright and beautiful" I have read those words before, but in this recently published book illustrated by artist Katy Hudson it has been brought to life in a whole new way.  You probably know the words too.   The favorite hymn was first published by Cecil Frances Alexander in 1848 and is still a mainstay in churches and Sunday school classes.  In this publication the illustrator brings new joy to the words with her fresh and bright watercolor style. Readers can join in the fun as they follow two little girls and their brother on a day filled with the discovery of “all things bright and beautiful.”

My youngest son and I have been enjoying sharing this book together.  I read the words, but there are so many beautiful images on each page that it takes a while for us to read the whole thing.  He is very happy to point out the bees, flowers, butterflies and more.  He loves to ask "what's that?" when he sees a creature he's not familiar with.

I love that he can relate to the pictures in the book he is seeing and remembers the time we were flying kites at Grandpa's house and the time we went camping.  I also love that he's growing his vocabulary because of the great amount of detail in the illustrations.

Of course this lovely hymn is a also a very nice reminder of all the good and beautiful things that are in the world around us.

This hard cover book would make a beautiful addition to your family's collection of books or a wonderful gift to a special child in your life.  The book is available now on Amazon.

About the artist:
Katy Hudson was raised in Middlesbrough, England, and started her career as a small child drawing on freshly painted walls. Her parents quickly encouraged drawing with pencil and paper instead. The idea stuck, and after earning a degree in illustration, Katy is now a freelance illustrator. Katy works at a desk in a studio within Old London Library and likes to tap dance in her spare time.

The Giveaway:  One lucky winner will receive their own copy of All Things Bright and Beautiful.  Giveaway is open to US & CAN residents only. Giveaway ends August 1st.  Good luck!
