Getting Back to Nature This Summer @Voice_of_Play #PlayfulTrends

I adore summer, but I can't stand how quickly it goes by.  I can hardly believe it is almost July already.  My oldest two kiddos are one third of the way through their summer break and though we have less scheduled activities in July I just know it will still be gone before I know it.  We have to try to make the most of the time we have together as a family. One way to do this is by putting our devices away and getting back to nature.

Back to nature is one of eight PLAYFul Trends of 2016 identified by the experts at IPEMA and The Voice of Play.  Back to nature can include discovering our National Parks or even your local fishing hole.  Visiting state parks and playgrounds that bring nature to the neighborhood are an easy way to rediscover the great outdoors.

So far this summer we have gone fishing and canoeing.

We've explored a state park that we had never been to before and went on our first camping trip as a family of five.

We've visited beaches in our state that are new to us, played in the sand and waded in the water.

Walls have been both climbed and repelled down.

Hikes and night hikes have been taken.  Fireflies have been chased after and caught.  S'mores have been made.  It's been a good summer!  And we've still got a good two months left!  Let the playing continue!

Does your family enjoy spending time together outdoors?
