Rainbow Beast ~ Tales From the Monstrosity Scrolls Album Review & Giveaway

Product was received in exchange for this post.

I read quite a bit about music albums with a focus on albums that are good for kids.  Most albums don't get my attention the way the new album from Rainbow Beast & The Rock Band Land Rockers did.  When I read that their album makes you think of The Flaming Lips, Arcade Fire and Modest Mouse I knew it was one that I wanted to give a listen to.  To be honest a lot of kids' music can get stale really fast so having something that's unique and interesting to listen to was a very exciting prospect.

The album Tales from the Monstrosity Scrolls did not disappoint.  It kicks off with high energy and doesn't quit.  I loved how they are joined by lots of children's voices and major instruments.  The songs all tell vivid stories and you want to make sure you're paying attention so that you don't miss anything.  My favorite song on the album was the third track "Ice Girl".  I think if you listen you'll also love the story behind it along with the bouncy pop melody.  You may end up being a little envious of the superpower she has too.

Check out the video for "The Truth About Polar Bears" below for just a small taste of what the album has in store for you.

Tales from the Monstrosity Scrolls has 18 tracks on it.  Most of the album's tracks with just a few exceptions are over 3 and a half minutes long.  So this CD is not for those with a short attention span.  I would agree with the recommended age range of 5-11.  My older son was definitely more interested in this album than my daughter.

You can download the album now on Amazon and buy Tales from the Monstrosity Scrolls at CDBaby.com, iTunes and www.rockbandland.org.
